I offer one-on-one coaching for professionals who want to increase balance in their lives. Many, but not all, of my clients have ADHD or identify as neurodivergent.
Have you ever forgotten about a big project, and then remembered it the night before it’s due?
Do you want to care for yourself and implement better boundaries on your time, all while growing professionally?
Do you want a space to catch your breath and figure out what you’re going to do when?
My professional coaching is centred on a unique personal organizing tool called The Week Ahead. The tool allows people to reflect on their achievements, evaluate what’s on their plate for the week, and reminds them of what they can look forward to. Perhaps most significantly, it allows people to identify how they will care for themselves over the coming seven days.
Here’s how The Week Ahead works:
- MATCHING – ONE SESSION
We meet for a free, 30-minute consultation. This allows you to see what I can offer, and allows us to both decide whether we’re a good match for each other.
- FORMALIZING OUR PLAN
If it’s a go, then we set a meeting time for the same day, at the same time, each week. We sign a contract to formalize our collaboration, I send you an invoice and a calendar invite to our recurring weekly meeting.
- FILLING IN ‘THE WEEK AHEAD’ – WEEKLY SESSION
During our weekly video call I screen-share a blank copy of your personalized planning document. You talk and I listen. As you tell me about what’s on your plate over the next 7 days, I type and fill in the document.
I will ask you about what went well over the past week, and with your input, I will organize your upcoming meetings, projects, and tasks into distinct categories. We will also identify a self-care action and a skills development action. We can add extra categories, such as ‘Family Life,’ to best suit your needs.
- USE THE TOOL
At the end of the session I email you a link to the document for the week. You may either keep the document open as a browser tab throughout the week or print it out and place it on your desk. As your week progresses, check off what you’ve completed, and refer back to the document to guide your work.
IS ‘THE WEEK AHEAD’ RIGHT FOR YOU?
I created this tool with a friend during the COVID-19 lockdown. We were both working as freelance journalists and needed to create some accountability in our week. We came up with ‘The Week Ahead’ tool through trial and error. Our final program was a game-changer for both of us.
My coaching skills draw on a variety of personal and professional experience. In my early career I worked as an assistant for various small business owners, and as a yoga instructor. Perhaps most significantly, I draw on my own 15 years of personal development through talk therapy, career coaching, peer mentoring, meditation and yoga.
My service is great for people who are committed to personal and professional growth. It is not intended as a substitute for therapy. Think of it as your weekly time where you get your life in order, and plan how you’ll tackle big challenges. It’s quite fun!
Current and former clients include small business managers, freelance journalists, and creative entrepreneurs.
